James Roberts is a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern who earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University. He has experience working with adults navigating a range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and self-esteem challenges.

James has supported individuals managing obsessive and intrusive thought patterns using exposure and response prevention informed interventions, as well as those coping with chronic stress, medical concerns, and major life transitions. He also has experience working with neurodiverse individuals and those living with serious and persistent mental illnesses, including schizophrenia.

His clinical work focuses on helping clients improve emotional regulation, reduce avoidance patterns, and develop practical coping strategies that support long-term functioning. He incorporates problem-solving and skills-based interventions to help clients build insight, increase flexibility, and make meaningful, sustainable changes.

James utilizes an integrative, evidence-based approach to treatment, incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, and exposure-based strategies. He works collaboratively with clients to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their goals, values, and readiness for change.

As a clinician with a mobility disability, James is committed to accessibility and the use of assistive technology to expand access to mental health care. He is passionate about creating an inclusive therapeutic environment where individuals of all abilities feel supported and understood.

Outside of his clinical work, James enjoys graphic design and web development, combining creativity with technical problem-solving.
