
Amalia Nieto is a mental health counselor who graduated from Nova Southeastern University with her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. Amalia has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, self-esteem, and addiction.
Amalia utilizes cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT), a psycho-social intervention that aims to reduce symptoms of various mental health conditions. These focus on how thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes affect your feelings and actions.
Amalia also utilizes solution-focused brief therapy, which is a goal-directed collaborative approach to psychotherapeutic change.
Amalia enjoys spending most of her time with her dog and fiancé. She enjoys traveling, sightseeing, and trying new foods. Amalia is an avid Netflix/Hulu watcher but also enjoys curling up with a good book every now and then.
She has over 30 house plants, a newly found hobby that started during the pandemic but is surely here to stay.
